UCL – studying behaviour change, health and nutrition

Tictrac and UCL have teamed up for a new study. The team will be testing digital environments, wearable devices, online accountability coaches, competitions, action plans and more, to find out how different approaches affect health and nutrition.

The study will focus on two main questions:

  1. Using the social features of a digital product, are individuals motivated by seeing others succeed?
  2. How successfully can a digital environment help an individual lose weight over a six-week period?

The project team is made up of experts from the UCL Computer Science Department, UCL Centre for Behaviour Change, UCL researchers, Tictrac, and David Dunne, a performance nutritionist who works with elite athletes.
